postheadericon Happy Birthday Summer!

Today is Summer Thyme's birthday! She is two today- it is the nicest day we have had here on the farm all year. Bring on the summer.

Doesn't she look BEAUTIFUL?

It is not hard to remember the day our Summer was born.
  • It was Fathers' Day.
  • My crazy parents were here.
  • Luke, made his first communion.
  • It is my sister's birthday
  • We weren't at home...church.
We came home to the most beautiful surprise ever. She was up and running and hasn't stopped since!

Donkey Girls heard there may be cake.

They were mistaken!

Jen....Did I ever mention to you the poem by Chesterton "The Donkey"? Or have you found it? I'm not religious but on Palm Sunday I always think of the girls.

The Donkey

When fishes flew and forests walk'd
And figs grew upon thorn,
Some moment when the moon was blood
Then surely I was born;

With monstrous head and sickening cry
And ears like errant wings,
The devil's walking parody
On all four-footed things.

The tatter'd outlaw of the earth,
Of ancient crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,
I keep my secret still.

Fools! For I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.

Gilbert Keith Chesterton
